As Ledger & Associates previously wrote that “CALIFORNIA BASED MONSTER ENERGY DRINK CITED IN WRONGFUL DEATH LAWSUIT”. The facts, legal events and potential victims of this growing concern continues to expand.
Now, it looks like the amount of deaths/injuries related to energy drinks is rising, as are the amount of wrongful death and class action lawsuits. And, it looks like makers of one of the most popular energy drinks are in even more trouble – 5-Hour Energy drink is facing wrongful death lawsuits related to as many as 13 deaths. The lawsuits claim that the deaths are related to the makers of the highly caffeinated energy drinks.
These lawsuits come amidst at least 90 other reports of life altering or life-threatening results; one specific case involves a woman having a miscarriage. While the filing of a lawsuit does not necessarily assign guilt or financial responsibility to the defendant (the energy drink manufacturers), it does mean that more and more energy drink consumers may have been affected. If anyone has been adversely affected by any energy drink, they are encouraged to contact a personal injury attorney.
SIDE EFFECTS OF ENERGY DRINKS
There have been numerous medical and governmental research reports published about the long and short0-term side effects of consuming energy drinks. Please note that new medical and physiological impacts are being discovered all the time and that what the general pubic knows today may in fact change in the future.
Research proves that there may be many risks associated with drinking these highly-caffeinated energy drinks:
— Heart Palpitations
— Body Tremors
— General Agitation / Anxiety
— Stomach Issues
— Chest Tightness, Pain, Shortness Of Breath
— Disorientation, Nausea, Dizziness
— Skin Tingling, Numbing, Brief Paralysis
— Sleep Issues
— Severe Breathing Issues
— Headaches
A GROWING PROBLEM
Research also revealed that over the last five years a majority of hospital emergency room visits due to energy drinks have increased by a factor of ten. More than fifty percent of those visits have been non-alcohol related visits by energy drink consumers between the age of 12 and 25. Alarming that “people” as young as 12 are ingesting such a highly caffeinated product.
