Review & Opinion of: www.Compete.com

Let me set the stage: You go to an auto dealership and walk the lot. You see beautiful cars that are roped off so you can’t get too close. There is a “salesman” who stands by the roped vehicle bragging about how they have the best cars in the industry and touting that the car will surpass your wildest expectations. You break out your pen in excitement and say, “Where do I sign, I’ll buy it”. After signing on the dotted line, you are let past the rope and allowed to approach your new vehicle. You sit in your new car. As you turn the key in the ignition, nothing happens. You look up to the salesman and say, it doesn’t start. He smiles, and says, “Of course it doesn’t start, IT DOESN’T HAVE AN ENGINE IN IT.” You have been deceived and after you request your money back the salesman defends his position, “I never said it had an engine, where/when did I say that?”

To add insult to injury, he then points to another car behind another rope a few yards away and says, “Now that one has an engine, you only need to pay double what you have paid for your first purchase.” You rightfully request your money back for the first purchase. Your trust has been destroyed.

This has been our experience with compete.com. Can a company sit behind its corporate doors insulated by distance and a so called “corporate policy” to not refund consumers money after a lawful request? How many times has this happened in the past?

Here are questions we are in search of:
1. Does compete.com’s business model bait you in as a consumer with innuendo only to try to up-sell you to higher categories upon your dissatisfaction with what was originally delivered?
2. Have you or someone you know been told you would not receive a refund after learning that the “vehicle” had “no engine”?
3. Do you want to send a message to compete.com that you believe they are engaging in false and deceptive business practices?
4. Did Eric Austrew, compete.com’s Product Manager, contact you after your complaint and refuse to refund your money?
5. Have you been a victim of fraud at the hands of www.compete.com?

If so, we want to hear from you. We want to hear your story to see if we can help. With the economic crisis many have gone into “stay at home businesses” working on the internet. They have shelled out their last few hundred dollars in reliance on companies who imply they are selling an “engine” in their vehicle. If this happened to you, you are entitled to serious damages that may far exceed the the original money you paid the company.
