Biography

Bruce Cyra is an attorney in The Ledger Law Firm’s Seattle office. He represents victims throughout Washington State who have been injured due to others’ negligence. Since 2013, he has worked as a plaintiff personal injury attorney. He has prior experience in Nevada and Seattle, where he began his career prosecuting and defending evictions and representing clients in will contests and domestic violence cases.

In Nevada, Bruce spent several years advocating for homeowners in disputes related to poorly constructed properties. Upon returning to Seattle, he worked on significant cases involving child sex abuse, defended subcontractors against claims, and gained experience in contract and intellectual property claims. Since 2013, he has successfully pursued claims for victims of various accidents, including motor vehicle accidents, dog attacks, and premises liability claims such as trips and falls.

Bruce grew up in Puget Sound and graduated from Western Washington University and Seattle University School of Law. His prior career as a news photographer allowed him to cover significant events, including the Iditarod Sled Dog Race and the O.J. Simpson trial, earning an Emmy for a series about homeless youth in Seattle.

In addition to his legal work, Bruce joined the Board of Directors of a 501(c)(3) charity in 2006 and became its President in 2007. He has served as Race Director for local USAT triathlon events and the USATF Trail Ultramarathon, promoting active lifestyles and supporting the Vashon Island community.

A former high school and college athlete, Bruce is a USATF-certified coach and actively coaches Cross Country at the Vashon Island School District. He is also an accomplished ultrarunner, having participated in numerous races up to 100 miles.
