Timothy Bradford Cole, the suspect, ran a red light and struck an innocent civilian’s SUV. An innocent woman died because of the impact of the crash. Two others were critically injured but later survived.

Multi Vehicle Crash near Edinger Ave & Brookhurst St (January 28, 2023):

On the night of January 28, 2023, police officers were asking questions to a suspect about intoxication. They were at the junction of Edinger Ave & Brookhurst St when the police car was rear-ended. Although no injuries were reported, the airbags of the civilian car were deployed.

Photos and summaries from the on-scene sites were later found on social media and YouTube. The reason for the crash wasn’t identified, either.

Fatal Police Shooting After Gun Theft (May 15, 2025):

The tragic fatality wasn’t from a Fountain Valley car accident. Rather, it was a result of a much more grievous event. It involved a police response in Fountain Valley.

The incident escalated when 26-year-old Osean McClintock stole the service weapon of a police officer. Body-cam footage, later released by the FVPD, captured the officer screaming, “Please don’t shoot me!”

However, McClintock entered the officer’s patrol cruiser. A partner officer responded to the Code 3 distress call. He immediately confronted the armed suspect. Sadly, the suspect didn’t drop his gun even after repeated commands from the responding officer. The male officer then shot the suspect multiple times as he sat in the driver’s seat of the police cruiser.

McClintock died at the scene. No officers were injured. The FVPD and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office investigated the high-profile incident. However, the reason for the suspect’s being disoriented was not clear.

Community Report of Rear-End Crash at Talbert St & Magnolia:

There was a major collision at Talbert Street and Magnolia Street. The community shared its videos and photos across social media channels and local groups. There was a severe rear-end crash, as found in the photos and videos of the eyewitnesses.

The initial impact propelled a truck. The velocity pushed the truck into the opposing lanes of traffic. Although police responded to the accident swiftly, the road was blocked for 1 hour. The truck was towed to a safe place, and the road was opened.

Scene Photos Reported at Ellis Ave & Magnolia St Intersection (December 20, 2024):

Reportedly, there was a serious crash at the busy intersection of Ellis Avenue and Magnolia Street. The news spread rapidly among the local community groups and neighborhood alerts. Following the event, residents posted numerous scene photos.

The Fountain Valley Police Department (FVPD) issued a formal press release regarding a fatal traffic collision. The collision took place at the intersection of Bushard Street and Swift Avenue. The official announcement confirmed that the Nissan passenger died at the scene due to the head-on collision.

The Infiniti FX35 was northbound, and the Nissan Sentra was southbound. The silver Infiniti FX35 hit the black Nissan as it crossed the center median. Both drivers were critically injured and were taken to the hospital.

Sadly, the Nissan passenger passed away at the scene. The details of the crash weren’t clear. So, the FVPD urged the public to provide any information regarding the accident. They emphasized that it would accelerate the investigative process.

Vehicle vs. Tree/Wall Incident (July 31, 2025):

Although the accident took place in Santa Ana, a resident of Fountain Valley died. The Santa Ana Police Department reported that on July 31, 2025, a vehicle collided with a tree or a wall. The crash took place on Segerstrom Avenue and Bear Street.  

The Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) responded to the accident and transported the injured passenger to a local hospital. Sadly, he passed away in the hospital. However, the driver survived with a major injury. The reason for the accident wasn’t clear.
